A DIY Spa Retreat at home!
Who loves the spa? Ok dumb question I know...best place ever! But it may be tough with lockdowns and finances at the moment to indulge in a day away…so here are a few tips to DIY a spa day at home!
- Consider splurging on a thick, soft bath sheet and a cozy robe and slippers.
- Bring a plant or vase of flowers in the bathroom to breathe a little more life and beauty in your space.
- Gather a few of your favorite candles. I prefer to use candles made out of coconut or soy wax and scented with essential oils vs. synthetic fragrance whenever possible.
- Buy a bathtub overflow drain cover so you can fill the tub extra deep and soak all the way up to your chin.
- Queue up your favorite relaxing playlist…it might be traditional spa music….it might be metal (I dig a cheesy 80s romance playlist myself…turn around bright eyes…anyone…Bueller?...lol)…whatever helps you get to your chill zone.
- Make cucumber-infused water to sip as you spa - use a few extra slices to cover your eyes while soaking. Making cucumber water is so simple to make- just slice your cucumber- about 1/2 cucumber- place them in a 1/2 gallon mason jar or water pitcher filled with filtered water. You can top your jar with ice to help hold the cucumber under the water if you like. Place the cucumber water in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours, but overnight is best.
- Put 4-6 tablespoons of The Everything Bath™ Spa Retreat under warm running water, light your candles, play your music, grab your cucumber water and the extra slices for your eyes, and soak for at least 20 minutes.
- Once out of the tub, run a little spa retreat oil through the ends of your hair and wrap in a towel. Use Spa Retreat Body all over and wrap yourself up in your favorite robe and slip into your slippers.
- Continue sipping on your cucumber water, or switch to tea….or champagne…lol
- Now crawl into bed or curl up on the sofa and read a book, watch a movie, or take a nap (and I’m a mama of 2 young boys and do live in reality so I know the napping part is comical for many…but a girl can dream...)
